Programme Curriculum
The Health Care Management programme of the Institute builds on the strengths
of the core MBA curriculum and applies them to the unique elements and issues
of the health care industry. In addition to the goal to train leaders for
the health services sector, the programme is also designed to train managers
for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and for the insurance sector.
In developing the programme the Institute has the guidance and expertise
of senior practitioners from these sectors, as well as their participation
as faculty. The intense study of business and health care systems allows
for integration of perspectives and data that otherwise would be difficult
to achieve. The courses are designed to blend practice with theory and provide skills and concepts needed to keep one's career on the fast track. In order to review the core courses and integrate them, a Comprehensive Examination is conducted at the end of the first year. The electives in the second year of the programme give the student the opportunity to choose the programme of courses that will meet his or her professional needs. The student selects, in consultation with his or her Faculty Advisor, any of the areas or combination of areas that will most help the student's career plan. Dissertation
To qualify for the award of the Programme, a student is required to submit
a Masters-level Dissertation on any area of management, as a part of the
academic programme. |
